You Are a Force of Nature

The giant chased me through rolling hills and meadows. He was dark haired, about 18 feet tall and he was wearing animal hides for clothes and carried a big club. I was running, running, running but he was steadily getting closer and closer. Suddenly the scene shifted and was in hell; literally. I found myself in a massive rock hewn cavern with fires burning all around and powerful lightening arching across the cavern. I was terrified out of my mind and was not able to hold onto any rational thought in the face of the raw power and intensity of the energy all around me. I could only be with this scene for about five seconds before I flashed back to the rolling hills with the giant, only the giant had now shrunk down to human size and I started chasing him. Eventually we ended up in an undersea cavern with an ancient one from the depths of the ocean mediating our conflicts.
This dream was many years ago, but I remember it as if it was yesterday. When I stood in the face of the raw intensity of the fires of hell, then the giant fears in my psyche shrank down to human size. Whenever we can be with our inner anxieties and face our fears then they shrink down to human size and resolve to a manageable level. However, Instead of facing and dealing with our fears, most of us make our deal with the devil to try to avoid our inner demons.
Your deal with the devil can look many ways. Some of us stay in unhealthy relationships because we are afraid of being alone or of not making it financially; we may stay in that job that is not right for us for security. We may allow others to bully and intimidate us because we are afraid of what will happen if we stand up for what we believe. We may not confront the dysfunction in our relationships for fear of losing these relationships, we may go along with our friends or with our community or political group because we need to belong and we are afraid of leaving our herd or community. Your own personal deal with the devil can take an infinite variety of circumstances, but it always has one thing in common: we are sacrificing our truth and refusing to follow our inner knowing because we are afraid. We are allowing ourselves to remain in toxic situations because we are afraid of following our truth and are afraid of being our authentic Self. You get what you settle for.
What is your deal with the devil? How are you selling out on your truth so you can remain safe? I’m not talking about making poor choices and running away from your life to move across the world, but I am talking about finding your pearl of great price, getting your priorities straight and going for what is most important in your life with everything you have. Maybe your dream is a big change in your job or relationships or maybe it’s simply learning to speak your truth and create healthy relationships where you are or have an inner shift and learn to be happy where you are now. When you look within and do a gut check, you already know what you want and you know where you are living your truth and where you are selling out on your dreams. Whatever it is, why settle for less and why allow toxic thoughts or situations to dominate your life simply because your fear says you should play it safe and settle for less?
You are a mighty one; a powerful force of nature and when you commit yourself 100% to living your truth and realizing your goals then amazing things can happen. To Quote Johann Wolfgang von Goethe:
“The moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.”
You have a power within you that is greater than any of the life challenges you face. You have within you everything you need to live the life of your dreams. What are you waiting for?
